Integrity Certification Process

Step 1

Introductory Sensitisation Session with schools

The first step is to sensitize schools about the School Integrity Certification and what it entails. Schools participate in a briefing session that outlines the key steps and processes involved in the certification program. This session equips them with essential information and serves as a motivation to take part in the initiative. During these sessions, schools often share real-life instances of unethical conduct occurring in their environments. These testimonies have further reinforced our commitment to expanding the program beyond our current intervention states.

Step 2

Self-Assessment

The schools that have been briefed on the programme and have indicated interest go ahead to complete a self assessment google form. This form has questions that help the Step Up Nigeria team to understand each school’s level of integrity stance. The integrity policies already in place and how to further improve their integrity measures. This form allows schools to respond to the criteria, including Admission Integrity, Academic Integrity, and the teaching of Anti-Corruption Education. The form also enables schools to attach supporting evidence, such as pictures and videos.

Step 3

Document Review

Each document submitted by the schools is carefully reviewed by the Step Up Nigeria team to gain a clear understanding of the school’s existing integrity measures and to identify areas for improvement.
